– Farmers said, need money today, how long to wait for government procurement?
The purchase at the support price has not yet started, the heavy arrival of millet
Morena Every year the purchase at support price (government rate) starts as soon as jowar arrives in the market but this year the arrival of millets in the market has started a month earlier but Civil Supply Corporation is still registering. . On the other hand, the farmers who bring millet in the market say that how long should they wait for government purchase, they are in need of money today.
The arrival of millet in the agricultural produce market started from September 21. 40,000 quintals of millet have reached the farmers’ market so far. While there is no preparation for when the official procurement will start. The department which has been given the responsibility of buying millet has no plan regarding the procurement of millet. Due to which government procurement centers could not be started yet. 4,000 to 5,000 quintals of millet are reaching the agricultural production market in Morena every day. If the arrival of millet in the market continues as it is, most of the millet will be sold to the farmers before the government procurement center opens. The official rate of millet is Rs 2200 and the market price is Rs 1850 to 1900 per quintal. So the farmer does not want to wait.
Due to the code of conduct, the management did not pay attention.
After the implementation of the code of conduct, even this time the administration did not pay attention to it. Every year there was a meeting at the management level and the action plan was prepared for the procurement preparations and the subordinates were directed to make the arrangements, accordingly arrangements were made across the district, but this time nothing happened. .
