There is a story behind elephants
Every elephant here tells a story. Lilavati, a pre-covid circus elephant, survived her burns. Its care is taken care of by Mawut, the elephant’s caretaker himself. Medical oxygen is given to their burns in a hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HOT) room in the hospital. This facility is the first of its kind in India, most of the elephant burns have been healed and now there are only a few partial burns.
There are more than 200 elephants here
Like Lilavati, about 200 elephants are getting a comfortable environment and medical care at Vantara’s Elephant Center in Jamnagar. Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation announced the launch of their Vantara program to focus on the rescue, treatment, care and rehabilitation of injured, abused and threatened animals in India and abroad.
